Our Cottages
Although Island Retreat is situated
on over 11 acres of primary forest,
a private 400 meter long beach, and
our own mangrove where we “plant”
oysters and clams when fish is not
available because of rough seas (not
too often), we offer only 7
beachfront cottages, 2 family
cottages, 1 honeymoon cottage, and 2
garden cottages. Rather
than “overdevelop” the natural
environment, we seek to preserve it
and the island ambiance.
The cottages have running water in
the bathrooms with a mandi tub and
western-style toilets. Powered
by generator 3 hours during the day
and from sunset to 11:00 pm.
Also powered by solar energy with
small solar panels on each
cottage. Cottages are
constructed to allow sea breezes to
cool the cottages built with
all natural materials from the
Togians by local village
carpenters. All our staff are
local island people.
Beachfront Cottages (7)
The spacious beachfront cottages are
3 meters from our beach, with
private bathroom, king sized bed,
and terrace and hammock with a
panoramic view of the sea.
Triple occupancy cottages are
available.
Honeymoon Cottage (1)
Large cottage with king sized bed,
table for two, lounge area, private
bathroom, two terraces and hammock
with views of mangrove and the sea.
Family Cottages
(2)
Large cottages on
two levels with king sized bed,
two twin beds, private bathroom,
and terrace and hammocks with a
panoramic view, 3 meters from our
beach.
Garden Cottages (2)
Two twin sized
beds, terrace and hammock with
mangrove and park views.
Share bathroom.
The price of accommodations
are price per person, double
occupancy, and includes all meals
– breakfast, lunch, dinner,
coffee, tea, drinking water.
The price for children 6 to 12
years old are half-price.
Discounted for the months of
October through May, and for
long-term stays over 7
nights. 10% government tax
is added to the price of
accommodations, full board.
